A.T.R.S. MISSION STATEMENT

The Arkansas Therapeutic Recreation Society is hereby intended to serve as a communications network for professional, associate supporting, and student members affiliated with the delivery of Therapeutic Recreation Services. This association attempts to promote the public awareness and understanding of the Therapeutic Recreation profession; advocates for the advancement and treatment services in the education, rehabilitation, habitation, and medical treatment of individuals in need of Therapeutic Recreation; implements research in order to improve the delivery of these services; promotes and advocates for the advancement and increased awareness of Therapeutic Recreation in government bodies. This association seeks to promote the delivery of Therapeutic Recreation Services within the guidelines of the standard and practices of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association.
